Softball Factory Extends Partnership as Official Player Development & Scouting Partner of USA Softball

OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, is proud to announce a continued partnership with Softball Factory (Columbia, Md.) as the Official Player Development & Scouting Partner of USA Softball.

“We are excited to continue our relationship with Softball Factory,” said USA Softball Executive Director, Craig Cress. “Their dedication to providing top-notch instruction, college planning and development tools are evident through the success of their showcases, College PREP programs and National Tryouts. We can’t wait to see where this partnership continues to take.”

This partnership began in 2011, when Softball Factory and USA Softball teamed up for the National Identification Program, and it has evolved into helping thousands of athletes each year through participation in Softball Factory events.  At the grassroots level, USA Softball athletes receive invitations to the Softball Factory National Tryouts, and possible selection into the Softball Factory player development program.  These tryouts, which are held across the United States, serve as an opportunity for athletes to receive evaluations, college recruiting tips, exposure to college coaches and possible identification for the USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team athlete pool.

“We are proud to continue this great partnership with USA Softball,” said Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Softball Factory, Steve Sclafani.“The mission of the partnership remains focused on creating new opportunities for fast pitch softball players across the country. Over the past six years, we have enjoyed working with USA Softball to provide thousands of athletes nationwide with unbiased evaluations, top-notch instruction and college recruiting guidance. We are excited to assist even more USA Softball players and families through the renewal of this partnership.”

The Softball Factory program is led by Lea Ann Jarvis, a two-time World Champion as a member of the Women’s National Team. A two-time NCAA All-American at Louisiana Tech University, Jarvis also coached for 17 years at the Division I level before joining the Softball Factory team. Jarvis was also a member of the Raybestos Brakettes and won two USA Softball Women’s Major Fast Pitch National Championships and three runner-up titles. She also was a six-time USA Softball All-American as a catcher.

Softball Factory is slated to host over 100 National Tryouts in 2018. These events will take place in almost all 50 states, giving players nationwide an opportunity to participate.
