2016 Mount Hebron High grad Evvie Buehlman has decided to stay local and commit to playing collegiately for UMBC.
Buehlman has been a Softball Factory player through and through, attending Premium Video Programs in Bel Air, Maryland and Bear, Delaware during her freshman season in 2013.
Developing her skills with the Factory over the last two and a half years, Evvie was selected to the Under Armour Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament this past January.
Evvie showed off her excellent skills during the event, possessing an arsenal of pitches that ranged from high 50’s to low 60’s and a plus change-up that sat in the mid 40’s. Buehlman’s mound command was noted as well, as she wasn’t afraid to challenge batters and maintained a pitchers mentality throughout her outings.
“I’ve liked Evvie as a player and a person as well,” says Lea Ann Jarvis, Senior Director of Softball Factory.
“She’s been in our system for almost three years and has shown a certain competitiveness, a command on the mound and has grown physically and mentally during that time.”
Buehlman struck out 109 batters as an All-Metro sophomore last season and continues her solid career as a junior for Mount Hebron, who has opened the season 5-1.
Jarvis feels confident about Evvie’s decision to stay local and foresees future success.
“I wish her success at UMBC, it’s a good fit for her and a good conference to play in as well. I look forward to watching her during her collegiate career.”
We are proud of Evvie’s accomplishment and hope she will continue to carry the “Factory Way” spirit with her throughout her college career.
